County’s Assessed Valuation Up Nearly 5 Percent

The total equalized assessed valuation (EAV) for Madison County rose by nearly 5 percent, according to figures released this week by Madison County Clerk Debra Ming-Mendoza.

The county’s total EAV for 2021 was $5.901 billion. That’s up $274.2 million, or 4.6 percent, from the 2020 total of $5.627 billion.

Edwardsville Township posted the largest increase in EAV, from $1.115 billion in 2020 to $1.170 billion in 2021. Collinsville Township last year was $756,907,344, up from $714,708,301. Jarvis Township (Troy) saw an increase from $376.2 million in 2020 to $404.3 million last year.

Other 2021 totals, by township, included:

• Helvetica: $169,295,288, up from $163,154,247

• Saline: $200,832,328, up from $191,358,571

• Leef: $17,431,383, up from $16,431,521

• New Douglas: $10,775,516, up from $10,109,702

• St. Jacob: $77,362,043, up from $74,776,924

• Marine: $60,734,043, up from $57,976,943

• Alhambra: $38,125,970, up from $36,711,138

• Olive: $34,182,790, up from $32, 345,597

• Pin Oak: $173,171,721, up from $164,329,284

• Hamel: $94,249,423, up from $89,110,262

• Omphghent: $56,678,005, up from $53,118,492

• Ft. Russell: $222,393,118, up from $209,388,601

• Moro: $102,077,170, up from$95,947,636

• Nameoki: $110,027,165, up from $106,115,553

• Chouteau: $259,335,349, up from $251,425,184

• Wood River: $786,474,060, up from $757,704,134
