Madison County Gets Technology Modernization Grant from Illinois Courts

Madison County has been awarded a $105,407 Technology Modernization Grant from the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC), announced Circuit Clerk Tom McRae on Wednesday.

McRae expressed gratitude for the grant, highlighting that it would allow for necessary upgrades without imposing additional costs on Madison County residents.

He also credited Brian Davis, the Circuit Clerk’s Information Technology Manager, for his role in securing the funding. McRae praised Davis for his dedication to serving the taxpayers of Madison County.

The grant will be used to fund an IBM iSeries server for the courts’ case management and image storage systems. This marks the third such grant received by the Third Judicial Circuit Court in Madison County.

Previous grants were smaller and helped purchase equipment like monitors for courtroom modernization. The Courthouse Technology Modernization Grant Program was established in 2021 by the AOIC to help address technological challenges in courthouses statewide.
